Monday, November 26th Pt. 3

He studies me closely, silently thinking about what he wants. I can tell he’s absolutely torn with the question but giving him a choice where Alpha Redmen gave none is the only thing I can think of to remind him of who he’s working with.

Unexpectedly, the young pup takes the final two steps remaining between him and I, collapsing easily into my lap. I hold him as he weeps again before gently coaxing him into what I know needs to be done.

The simple process of relieving himself is painfully exhausting yet the end goal is ultimately achieved before we both wash our hands. I pick him up without a word and settle him quickly onto my shoulder allowing him to feel and smell who I am. Stepping back into his room the two nurses have yet to leave and are whispering an indiscernible conversation with each other, the doctor appears to be in shock.

“The sample is sitting on the sink.” I speak to the nurses first.

“I never caught your name.” I address the doctor.

“Dr. Wilson.” She replies wit
