Chapter 114

Jacob’s POV

The long dining table I sat in was quite huge and empty, the room was as silent as a graveyard too but that was how I loved to eat; alone and in total silence.

The only noise that could be heard was the clicking of my cutleries together and the sound of wine pouring into a glass by the maid that stood beside me. She set the bottle down after almost filling the glass to the brim and tried to shift it closer to me but accidentally spilled some drops on the shiny table made of cedar. I snapped.

I was irritated by the meek manner in which she carried out her duties and in sudden anger I picked the glass up and poured out the entire contents of the wineglass on her dress.

“Sir..!” The maid shrieked and moved backwards as the crimson red liquid stained her clothes but I paid no attention to the pathetic face she was pulling at me. Instead I focused more on how annoying she was and just how she had made me lose my appetite..
