"Remember, I've got your bag," Alex said for the fifth time, making me roll my eyes. "But I still don't understand why I can't just..."
"Because it's Maya's and my annual tradition. I'm not gonna break it now. I understand that you're feeling left out, but you're still not coming with us." I huffed and walked away to the opposite wall.
"Stop it, Alex! It's just a few hours." His sister came to the rescue. She sounded annoyed by her brother's nagging. Alex was so against my shopping date with Maya. Why can't he just understand that I missed her and I wanted to have some alone time with her?

Maya's POV"Hello," I called for the third time before checking again on maps. I was at the right place but the warehouse was empty. It even looked like it wasn't used in ages. I took a deep, full-of-dust breath and tried calling back the number."Well hello there!" I turned around, startled by the sudden yet familiar voice. I was pretty sure no one was around. The moment we locked eyes, my blood froze in my veins. How could I forget those dull green eyes? He had the same creepy presence I remember from our one and last encounter. The room was in complete chaos but the buzzing in my ears kept me from hearing the said words. My eyes were on the smashed phone in my hands, Maya's phone. Maya's POVI don't know how to describe my state of mind right now. I can even say that I'm kind of confused by the twirls of various emotions and thoughts running wildly inside my head. Alex's POVI watched Eliane walk confidently inside the ladies' room followed by my sister. Since the day Maya went missing, I discovered a completely different side of my mate. The cute cry baby I came to know the last few weeks was long gone. In her place stood a stronger and more confident girl. She didn't let her emotions take over and sometimes, she was even the one calming the rest of us. It was obvious how devastated she was by the loss of Maya and I could see that she was feeling guilty too.
