Chapter 52

Leah POV

Two men started yelling at each other. The merchant was yelling at a buyer to leave but the buyer refused to leave. They went on and on until people gathered.

“Come on,” Connor told me and pulled me from the seat. Damian came at that moment, pulling my hand away from Connor.

He glared at Connor for a moment. “Here, have this,” he grumbled, handing me a piece of chocolate cake. It was carefully wrapped in a star shaped bag, looking very cute.

“Thank you,” I murmured as I took it. The little argument taking place ended and everyone acted like nothing happened moments ago.

“We need to see someone, will you be okay with Evelyn?” Damian asked me. I frowned.

“Wait, you and Connor? Can't I come?” I asked him and he shook his head. “Can I ask who it is?”

“It's someone I need to assist me with the mined lead. He is very skeptical about who sees him so I do not want him to be wary of me,” he explained.
