Chapter 63

Leah POV

Finally, we were getting somewhere. I was a little bit happy, the altercation earlier was forgotten too. The gems today looked better than yesterday. I was seated going through some numbers when I heard rather than saw him.

“It's at the back. You have been here before so you should already know everywhere,” Damian's voice rang out. Everyone stopped what they were doing and turned to the door. I stood up in anticipation, wanting to see him.

He entered with Marcus and the technician, John. I thought he would not accept John due to the few years he had been a blacksmith. As he entered, his eyes immediately found mine.

I held his gaze on purpose. His lips curled into a smirk before he pulled his eyes away. I let out a shaky breath I didn't know I was holding. This man was going to be the end of me.

They walked away and I sat back down, trying to concentrate on what I was doing but it wasn't working. I couldn't stop thinking about him being some steps away from me.
