Rose watched Ty with his pack as he instructed them on what his wishes were. He’d been very careful with how he wanted them to conduct themselves in town. They were to expect trouble and to be followed. His people were to avoid bringing any tails home with them. By using the back roads and backtracking on their trails. They knew the ways to fool the lazy country bumpkins. She’d need to talk to Ty about the way he spoke of the pack he wished to take control of. If they were lazy country bumpkins, then why would he want to take control of the pack? Later, he explained he didn’t see the pack as lazy or bumpkins. He saw her father and his men. Jules was struggling with the entire idea of mating. She’d seen what mating did to her father. Her mother fled from him. She was sure it was because of how he changed after mating. No wait. “Ty, we need to do something. Russell’s harassing people in town. He’s sure they’re hiding out the location from him.” Ben came back with a couple of the guys from a grocery run to the next town over, along with other chores. This is what he found out when he stopped by the post office to pick up the mail. “The postmaster was being harassed when I got there by a couple of Russell’s men. They think she’s hiding from him.” Rose stood in the hallway outside of the kitchen, listening in. Her heart was in her throat. Her father was still looking for her. When would he stop? He never cared before this, so why now? Did he have a buyer for her? She wouldn’t become a slave to anyone.
