Chapter 6

Anna's POV

My hands flew over my mouth as I realized where I was.

I was at the edge of a cliff. A slight movement could make me drop so hard. Why was everything tough for me? I tried not to let the tears slip. I have wailed so much for the day. I will not shed another tear again.

I tried to snatch the small timber that stood beside me but it cracked immediately I touched it making my stance waver.

I was coerced to look down the cliff. My mouth hung open in awe as I stared at the civilization below it.

Down the cliff lay the place I was steering to. My sanctuary! I know I pledged not to cry but the tears fell. They were happy tears and I will be damned not to let them fall.

I sniffed hard and used the hem of my dress to wipe my eyes. I was going down the cliff and I wouldn't want my tears to eliminate my chance of having a clear eyesight. I could end up dead if everything went south.
