CHAPTER SIXTY-FOUR

Emma couldn't control either her legs or her tears. Both kept running and flowing. She was panting, sobbing, and coughing all at once. The pain was too intense for her to even have a moment of relief.

While she went through that, out of the corner of her eyes, she noticed a black sedan, Van closely trailing her. She knew when a car was just driving by and when it was actually following one. It was all tinted, making it difficult to see the inside.

What was this about now? She gradually increased her pace, wiping her eyes with the back of her hand for clarity. As she took off, the Van equally increased its speed to catch up with her. Emma frantically looked around to see if there was a blind spot to hide. Maybe an alleyway or a fence to scale.

Unfortunately, there was no such place. Her only choice was to outrun them, which was becoming more and more impossible due to the aching stitches of her injury. She clutched the source of her pain, moaning in difficulty while trying to keep up
