Lucy’s POV

Arman was a little confused about what I just said to him, so he leaned forward and asked, "I beg your pardon—I'm afraid I didn't catch what you just said to me."

I smiled derisively as I said, "Well, As much as I want you to suffer, I still owe my life to you—you saved me from death."

"Lucy, seven months ago, the doctors were about to give up on you, but I didn't. Go ahead and hurt me because of what I did to your family if you want to. I am certain that my actions were justified."

"Why didn't you just let me die?" I asked through tears.

"Because, technically, you are my wife. I have to keep you alive until the deal ends. Stop thinking that I care for you." He gave a straight answer.

“I hate you.”

“The feeling is mutual, Lucy.”

With an angry look on his face, he walked ferociously upstairs, turning away from me. I took my eyes off him and grabbed the water glass to drink. Then I thought, "Why does he have to make me hate him so much?"
