Paris
The flight was pretty short and before Mke had got the chance to settle in his seat, it was time to get off the private jet.
He hadn't seen Killian for the entire time of the short flight, as he was sitting on the other end of the plane, talking to someone Mike hadn’t seen before.
Obviously Killian really was going to Paris for work, and wasn’t really planning on spending time distracting himself, and was using all the time he had on his hands to negotiate.
“It’s for work, “Mike told himself, “Just for work, what were you thinking… “
They got off and Mike looked around the small, private airport.
They didn’t pass
it's your job, boy
*** Mike began working for the Bureau way before reaching the age of which agents usually joined. One of the reasons might have been that he had practically grown up with the agency- his dad was one of the CIA’s top agents, his grandpa had dedicated most years of his life to the detective profession, he had an uncle at the force, a cousin who was a private detective, and so on, and so on . Another reason for his early joining might have been that as a wolf, Mike was hundreds of times better than most humans, not even considering the average male. He’d caught his first criminal at the age of twenty one, a year later he’d solved a case the Bureau had been investigating for two years. Mike was the CIA's best young, promisi
Mike checked himself once again in the mirror. He looked completely out of place, as usual. “Nothing new,” he muttered as he picked up the tie and tried to make something out of it. When he didn’t succeed, he dropped the silky cloth on the bed and decided to go without it. His black suit was fancy enough as it was, and besides, he was a bodyguard, no one would notice what he was wearing either way, as long as it was in dark colors. His room was spacious enough, even though it was the second bedroom of the suite. For one thing it was waaaay bigger than the one he had back in London, or the US. There was one common thing between all the room
Killian left with the older man, soMike walked around the place, greeting people who were dressed in some of the expensive clothes that existed not only in Europe, but also in the world. He was already beginning to think that everyone here was overly educated on fashion, but the strange thing was he wasn’t beginning to feel inadequate. They just fit the place perfectly.Mike was listening to where Killian was, and even though he was way less alert than he normally was, he could tell his boss was nearby. It didn’t feel like he was working, it also didn’t feel like all the other galas at Richard’s place.A waiter passed by
Mike saw him, standing there, and all the lights were off, the only light was coming from the building outside. They were probably reflecting in Kilian’s dark eyes as well, but Mike could not see it, because Killian was keeping his back turned to him and all Mike could see was the dark silhouette of his mate. And Killian was standing in the dark room, unmoving. The million pieces of glass were lying shattered at his feet and Mike caught the scent of the blood. ‘He is fine” his wilf whispered, “he is fine, it’s just a scratch, he is fine…” The voice was echoing in his head, but Mike was walking towards Killian, unthinking and unseeing anything.
The sun was trying to penetrate through the thick, expensive curtains, hanging richly all the way down the french windows, touching the carpeted floor. The warmth was spreading all through his face, then it was moving lazily down his limbs.Mike exhaled slowly, trying to make himself open his eyes and remind his brain that it was a day already. Quite a bright one at that. Then his brain finally managed to pierce through the haze of the sleep and help him realize that in fact, he was Way too comfortable when his wolf stirred and he knew he was surrounded by the scent of his mate.Mike’s eyes snapped open and he sprang instantly to a sitting position . Killian’s scent.Mike took a
****Mike’s grip was still strong, but firm. He held Killian there, not letting him go and the proximity was sending strong longing all down Mike’s body, It was as if electricity was passing all through him, coming from Killian and spreading inside Mike.“It’s the bond. “the wolf whispered, quietly and assuredly in his mind and Mike didn’t try to argue or think it over too much.He just stood there, Killian looking right in his eyes.“Well? “ Killian asked, “Which part exactly from last night were you serious about?”“Everything. “Killian paused
“Then what is it?’ Killian’s eyes were piercing right through him, the question and tension burning strong between them, “ Are you in love with me or something?” Killian was looking up at him, waiting. Mike dropped his hand from where it was still holding Killian firmly. His mind was filled with all the things he wished to say, and even more filled with those he couldn’t say. At some point he felt like his head was overflowing, that he began speaking, then stopped himself. He couldn’t tell Killian who he was. He couldn’t tell why he was doing what he was doing, where he actually came from, what he had done before, none of it. In general, he couldn’t tell Killian absolutely anything that wasn’t a lie.
Mike couldn’t let this happen. No, he would not let this chance slip, not now. Before he left things to go to hell completely, he rushed after Killian, most likely surprising his mate with his speed and came to stand right before Killian.Mike blocked Killian's way and pushed the door closed."What are you doing?"Killian looked up at him and Mike could swear he heard Killian's heart beat changing. He did hear it. He wasn't making this up. It was the second time after last night that he could hear his mate's heart. It lasted for a blink of a second, but he was sure he heard it. It had been there.
