We're in This Together (Anya)

Myself and Caleb walked out of the class and headed to the school gate. On our way, there was a battle within me to stop and peep into the principal's office, but self-control won. Immediately, we walked past the corridor and came out into the open courtyard that functions as a makeshift basketball court and the route to the school gate, the scorching sun greeted my skin. I caught myself before a wince could escape my lips.

Caleb was behind me and must have seen me jerk as soon as I stepped into the sun.

"What's wrong?" He asked softly as he covered the gap between us.

"I never expected the sun to be this hot," I said, still moving towards the gate.

"Yeah, about that, I think it's climate change ish."

"Yeah. We have succeeded in destroying the ozone layer with our developmental activity. Now, we are paying dearly for it."

"I wonder when this will end," Caleb mumbled under his breath.

We said goodbye to the security guy as we approached the school gate with our backpacks. Outs
