Chapter 26

(Evelyn's POV)

The sadness and eeriness was clearly visible on Alex's face. Since the time he learned about me having a soulmate, his mood has been low. I know that he doesn't want to leave me and the same thing goes for me as well.

“How is he feeling?” Next morning, I woke up earlier than the others and went straight to the kitchen. But when I reached I saw Alex's aunt drinking coffee.

“Fine but he'll need some time to adjust to this new information” I said while thinking about him.

“Don't worry, when the time comes everything will happen on its own” She gave me a little smile before leaving.

I was preparing coffee for myself when Alex came from behind and hugged me.

“Do you want one?” I asked and he nodded before placing his head in the crook of my neck.

“I love you” He said after a while and I knew he was still thinking about it.

“I love you too” I turned around to give him a kiss and to assure him that I am still beside him only.
