“Pocket, what are you doing with that blanket?” I ask while Zara drags the blanket from our bed to her office. We’ve only been home a couple hours and she can’t seem to sit still.

“I need it.” Her voice strains against the weight of the heavy quilt. “For my beanbag chair.”

“Your Still making a nest?” I take the blanket from her and hand Orli to her instead. “Orli is here now. Your done building, Zara. Now it’s time to relax and spend time with your pup.”

Zara stops pulling and drops her shoulders. For a second, I think she’s going to cry, but she sniffles back her tears.

“Okay, okay, I’ll take the blanket for you.” I shake my head at her. “All you need to do is ask, Pocket. You’re going to hurt yourself.”
