I don’t utter a single word in the car, I didn’t even turn to look at Austin even once. My mind couldn’t wrap its way around the event that just happened, what the heck was Austin thinking?! I know Markus has to be involved in it somehow, or he wouldn’t have reacted the way that he did afterwards.Once we pull up at the apartment, I didn’t wait for him to turn the car off before I climb out. I didn’t want to sit there and allow him to tell me how it was all Markus’s fault, Austin does have his own mind to make his own decisions. Kissing his best friends girlfriend is a big decision that he made! I climb the stairs to the apartment while Austin closes his car door, I was unlocking the apartment door as he was still at the button of the stairs. I enter the apartment and head towards my bedroom, while I hear the front door close behind me. Austin must have ran up the stairs to catch up.“Payton please” Austin starts to say but I shake my head looking back at him for a second, I didn’t ev
I stay in my room just staring at the wall, what does Austin expect me to do with the information he just told me? What will Roman do if he found out? When he gets back are we just going to pretend none of this happened? As I’ve said before Roman is so good at catching the vibes of the room, he’ll know something is off almost immediately and will ask what’s going on.I couldn’t help but feel bad for Austin, if he’s telling the truth and he has been hiding the way he was feeling since school, that’s been more than a few years. From the way he was telling me back there, I could just see how hard it was for him to tell me.Before I had time to dwell on those thoughts anymore, Austin starts to shout dinner was ready in the kitchen. How is he acting so casual after what we just spoke about?! With a little sigh I sit up from bed, I knew I couldn’t avoid Austin forever. Firstly, because we live in the same apartment and second, we still have to keep up the couple act around Markus. I slide o
It was the next morning, I didn’t really get much sleep last night as my mind was just racing with all the things Austin told me yesterday. The thing I couldn’t get out my head was the way he said Roman treats me, I’ve never thought Roman treated me badly, he’s just really over protective. He’s always been like that ever since we started dating, he used to walk me to and from school to keep me safe even though it added an extra hour onto his walk each day. What also was playing on my mind all night, was when Austin told me he loved me. I didn’t know how I was supposed to handle that, until Roman left I generally thought that man disliked or even hated me at times! But according to him, he’s had those feelings for me ever since we met in school. But why would he constantly treat me like dirt then?A knock on my bedroom door makes me jump slightly, within a few seconds Austin was walking in with a plate of food in his hands. That same smile still on his lips, which I couldn’t help but s
We walk around the different stalls for around an hour, I could not get over the beauty of this place and how it is not really known to the public. Now I know about it, I hope Austin is telling me the truth when he tells me we can come here often. The people were also so nice, they were just generally grateful that we were there walking around. I must have thanked Austin like a thousand times for taking me here, this was truly a beautiful place! We soon stop at a stall that was selling handmade jewellery, you could just tell by looking that these were made with such love and care. Every piece was dramatically different to the other, so if you brought this you were really getting a one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery. My eyes scan the pieces when they land on one, it was a beautiful locket that was sat on its own.“Do you like it?” Austin asks once noticing my eyes had not moved to any other piece, I nod my head with a little smile as I went.“It looks nearly identical to the one my grand
We continue to cloud spot for a little while longer, this was something I didn’t expect that Austin would be enjoying. At first, I know he didn’t really think much of it, but now he was eagerly pointing at the different clouds. His guesses are much weirder than mine, apparently, he kept seeing a troll for some unknown reason.“I knew once you started getting into it, you’d start enjoying yourself” I say looking over at Austin who was still laying beside me, he nods his head laughing turning to look at me too.“I didn’t think this would be something I would be enjoying either, but lately it’s become clear that any activity involving you, I always enjoy myself” he says looking at my face where I just smile, but the conversation we had last night popped back into my mind.“What did you want me to do with the information you told me last night, I’m so happy with Roman and can’t picture myself with anyone that isn’t him” I say just being open with him, I didn’t want to lead him on in any w
On the way home from the village, we stop off at Austin’s favourite pizza place. I wasn’t that hungry as I thought those pastries filled me up, but Austin kept saying that cloud spotting really took it out of him. We were walking up the steps to the apartment, Austin was going on a long tangent of how pizza is actually good for and that’s why we should eat it at least once a week. I laugh unlocking the door telling him how insane that sounded.“The ingredients for pizza may be somewhat healthy, but the amount of salt that they put in it isn’t good for you” I laugh walking through the door, it’s nice to have it every once and awhile but not constantly.I place my purse on the little shelf by the door before entering the living room, but once I look over, I stop in my tracks. Standing in the middle of the living room, facing the door was Roman. Austin continues to make a joke until he walks into me, he stops what he was doing until his eyes also go to the living room and saw Roman there
I didn’t see Austin that night, I was worried until I heard him walking through the door in the early hours of the morning. I got ready for the day with Roman sat on the bed watching me, he was asking me questions about Jacob and the things I’ve had to do. I told him some parts while keeping others to myself, I knew Jacob would probably want to keep some parts between us for the time being.Once I was ready, we both leave the bedroom and head towards the main part of the apartment, where sat in the living room was Austin. As we walk in, he turns to look at us, I send him a tiny smile before looking over at Roman. Him and Roman haven’t been in the same room as each other since he found out what has been happening, just from this morning he doesn’t seem to be too annoyed anymore. Roman and Austin soon make eye contact, but for the first time, Austin doesn’t seem to be the one starting a conversation.“Alright, I just want to say I don’t have anything against you man, I understand why yo
I follow Jacob into this huge abandoned looking warehouse, but my mouth just hangs open from shock when I walk inside. I had never seen a place like this in all of my life, I thought it was just in those crime hunting tv series. The outside looked like a rundown warehouse whereas the inside, was decked out with high level computers and more devices than I have seen in all my life! As we walk in, I spot three other people sat there, who hadn’t noticed we had walked in due to their heads being buried in work.“Look alive people!” Jacob exclaims loudly which does finally get their attentions, they all whip their heads up to look at Jacob before all their eyes turn to look at me trailing behind him. “We need to widen our search for Brooke, we need to look at places where Markus frequents the most” he tells them stopping at a table, I was a little behind him just trying to take all this in as I was still pretty shocked about it all.“Do you believe there is a connection between Markus and
