Chapter 7 - Bonnie Walton

Bonnie POV

“No Mom, please don’t make a big deal out of this,” I let out, but she waves me off as she shows me the menu for the dinner. I shake my head, taking it from her hand. I scan the document and frown.

“Who eats this? Come on Mom, can we have human food?” I ask and she clicks her tongue, removing her glasses as she looks at me.

“Bonnie, this is an important engagement. You’re not marrying some lowlife. Peter comes from an important family,” she says, and I swear that’s all my mom thinks about. I couldn’t care less what type of family Peter has.

“Mom, you know Peter is simple like me. He doesn’t like all of this,” I say as I point at the caviar on the menu. “Can we please tone it down and remove half of the people from this list? I don’t even know who they are,” I say and again she ignores me, waving her hand.

“Nonsense Bonnie, these are very important people, and it’s good for you to get to know them,” she says and I shake my head, raising both my arms in the air in surrend
