121. Responsibility

Steven was about to retaliate against Greg's insolent words, but Greg didn't let that happen because his men had already left before he could reply.

"That little bastard!" Steven cursed in exasperation.

He certainly didn't want to follow even though several of his men were now looking at him with questioning eyes.

He tried to blind his eyes as if he didn't see the expressions that showed disappointment towards him.

Indeed, he still cherished his life so he did not want to die silly just for pretending to be a hero in the battlefield.

Of course he didn't need any praise or accolades from anyone.

All he needed right now was to survive the war and return to the kingdom with nothing less.

Unfortunately, he couldn't just stay there because over time some of the soldiers even began to speak to him.

"Sir, do you really not want to help General Mackenzie?" the first soldier said.

"That's right, sir. General Mackenzie must really need you there. He's obviously short of men."
