However, Greg Sehel knew there was nothing he could do. Riley, the general's son, knew the risks of his friendship with James Gardner and he was sure that the young man must have thought things through.

"Commander, we have a call from General Reece," a staff member said a moment later.

Greg nodded and quickly re-entered the tent where he could communicate with Andrew Reece.

Riley looked at Greg who entered the tent and frowned, somewhat confused.

James asked, "Why? Did he ... do something earlier when you were on the battlefield?"

Riley rolled his eyes, "What are you talking about? He certainly did a lot of things on the battlefield. He's our leader."

James snorted impatiently, "I mean, did he get you in trouble? Like telling you to do something difficult?"

"If so, is he that-"

"Stop thinking useless thoughts, James Gardner!" Riley interrupted quickly.
