The warning in her eyes was obvious.

Jade knew she was afraid she might bring up Elena's drunk driving incident from that day.

Jade shook her head. "Miss Bennett, I'm sure you know the purpose of our visit today. We are really grateful for your help. Without you, we wouldn't have gotten this far."

Jade showered Elena with praise, making her somewhat overwhelmed.

Elena's attitude visibly softened, but she still looked at her warily. "Alright, alright, just get to the point."

Jade smiled faintly. "Do you know when we can meet Director Tolo?"

The longer they waited, the more likely something could go wrong.
