Julian had already slipped out of the door, too far away to hear Elena's angry shouts.

Once outside, Melanie could no longer hold back. "Jade, are we really just leaving like this?"

She had come today with high hopes, only to be disappointed at not even getting a chance to meet Leo. Leaving in such a manner felt utterly disheartening.

What piqued Melanie’s curiosity even more was wondering who had taken her spot.

Without slowing her pace, Jade continued forward and said, "Who said we're leaving?"

Before Melanie could finish her question, she widened her eyes in surprise.

That wasn’t the way out—Jade was leading her upstairs instead!

Melanie blinked at the door before her, feeling a surge of apprehension. "Jade, why are you taking me to Director Tolo's office?"
