Turning The Page

My boyfriend for the last 2 years just walked in the coffee shop. I couldn't believe he was here. It's not that I thought I wouldn't see him in town. But I definitely wasn't planning on it. And with another girl. I wondered if that was the girl who answered the phone. She definitely wasn’t from our school, which had a population of five hundred.

“When did Luke start coming to the coffee shop?” Clara looked extremely guilty. “Did you call him and tell him I was here?”

“I might have said something.”

I grabbed my coffee and got up from the table. “I cannot believe you called him and you know we just broke up. I don’t want to see him. Anna let’s go.”

Luke and the girl on his arm, made their way towards us. The girl, yelled, “Clara, hey girl.” And then they hugged.

I could not believe my eyes. My bestie with my ex’s new girl. What was going on? I decided I didn’t want to deal with this right
