35. Intense Killing Aura

After Zach went out of Nevea’s room, he immediately dialed Silas’ number.

“Hello, Your Majesty?”

“Silas,” Zach called his butler name. His eyes stared at the dark sky while gripping his phone. “Have you seen me with Nevea in the past?”

“In the past?” Silas replied with uncertainty.

“Way before I went to sleep,” Zach spoke.

On the other side, Silas gulped and touched the black stone on his bracelet. He did not know whether this was a good time to spill the truth or if he should just wait a little and watch how the situation between Zach and Nevea improved.

“Silas?”

He heard Zach’s tired voice, and in an instant, he let a lie escape his mouth. “I have not, Your Majesty.”

There was no more reply after that. The only thing Silas could hear was Zach’s heavy breathing. He could guess that something might have bothered his king. A few seconds later, the line was disconnected by Zach, and Silas exhaled through his mouth.

“I am saved.” He muttered and went back to sleep.
