I finally have some down time and head to the hospital like I do every Friday. I enter through the doors and the smell of bleach hits me. I’ve walked these halls so many times I could find the room I seek with my eyes closed.

“Good afternoon Alpha,” says Joy, my father’s doctor.

“Good afternoon. Any changes?”

“I’m sorry, no.”

Joy leaves me and my father. The annoying beeping sound is the only thing letting us know my father is still alive. I change out the flowers on his night stand and begin his exercise routine. The staff do their jobs well ensuring at least twice a day my father gets some exercise in. I’ll need to make sure to give out bonuses soon.

“I wish you were awake father. There is so much I could use your advice on.”
