Chapter 26

Summer’s POV

I saw a man at the edge of the training field. He was sprinting towards me. I could only make out his silhouette at first. “It’s them. I can feel Zen.” Alexis was screaming at me. Causing me to run to Rayne. He's racing towards me. When he gets closer, I can finally see his face. Tears streamed down my face. I couldn’t stop them.

When he was close enough, I just leapt into Rayne’s arms, wrapping my legs around his waist and my arms around his neck, burying my face between my arms. My big brother, my big brother, has found me. I just cry and cry and cry, I am so happy. He is stroking my hair as he collapses to the ground with me in his arms.

I initially thought he was catching his breath, since I landed on him awkwardly. But then, when he is clawing at his throat, I realize he can’t breathe. If I panic now, I am no use to him.

It’s then I realize I have seen this happen before.
