Chapter 36

Gale’s POV

We had been traveling in our wolf's form for days and finally made it near Crystal Lake Pack. Dawson said we needed to be in this territory by morning, as he had someone to meet. Normally we just travel around, with no reason or purpose. But when it nears the Blue Moon, he knows exactly where to go. I don’t ask. Then he disappears for a few days. I don’t ask why or where he goes. I took the opportunity to relax for those few days.

We set up a small campfire near a stream. We could get water for drinking and cooking. As well as washing.

Once the fire was lit, the rabbit was cooking nicely. We sat and talked. Overall, it should be a pleasant night. We were making our beds, but then we both heard a wolf howling.

I ignored it. There are always wolves howling from packs. However, Dawson simply stared in the direction it originated from. The wolf never howled again. But what I heard was one simple word. A word Dawson had wanted to say for the 7 years I have been
