Chapter 57

Rayne’s POV

When I saw Summer’s lifeless body on the floor in that abandoned mill, I just froze with shock. It was only when Nathan said there was a chance of saving her did I snap out of my daze. But that was short-lived as I phased out again and we were at the hospital.

It was only when I was carrying my sister’s barely alive body. Placing it carefully on to the hospital trolley, I finally came to my senses.

Her blood was all over me, but I didn’t care. Nathan said there was a chance they could save her. He had to try. I pleaded with the goddess to take my life and spare Summer's. She has a family that needs her. I have nothing. She needs to live far more than I do.

When the heart monitor stopped. It felt like someone had reached into my chest and pulled out my heart. I was devastated.
