Ruth looked in the direction of the bathroom whose door closed gently as he entered and wondered if his 'Okay' meant he had heard her. "This is not the kind of life she had anticipated when she agreed to marry him," she thought still looking at the closed bathroom door. She exited the room, went downstairs and entered the balcony. She sat on the chair and admired the light-up city. It was amazing looking at the city in the night from where she sits yet it could not give Ruth a reason to smile. Her parents had their difference but aside from Chantel putting up some odd behaviours sometimes, making her seem like a weirdo, they were a happy family.
