Chapter 36: Personal Pleasure

Ruth looked in the direction of the bathroom whose door closed gently as he entered and wondered if his 'Okay' meant he had heard her.

"This is not the kind of life she had anticipated when she agreed to marry him," she thought still looking at the closed bathroom door.

She exited the room, went downstairs and entered the balcony. She sat on the chair and admired the light-up city. It was amazing looking at the city in the night from where she sits yet it could not give Ruth a reason to smile.

She had watched movies, read stories and created an idea of what marriage looks like or should look like but that is not at all what she has. Her parents had their difference but aside from Chantel putting up some odd behaviours sometimes, making her seem like a weirdo, they were a happy family. Well, they were till misfortune hit them

Ruth was sitting on the balcony with all these thoughts running through her head. She didn't realize Katherine had entered the balcony and was looking at her.
