Rain is Taken

River felt the world tilt on its axis. She rushed to the bathroom, calling “Rain?!”

She found it as empty as a ghost town, with no sign of her daughter except the bathroom fittings staring right at her. Her ears began to ring and her heart did a flip-flop in a bad way.

It was such that she could feel it right in her bones that something was wrong and off. She searched the closet, searched under the bed, and yet, no sign of her daughter. Thus, she ran out of the room, shouting...

“Rain?!”

“RAIN?!”

Instead, the other doors of the other rooms opened one by one, Annemarie, Tara, and Finn stepping out with sleepy eyes.

“River?”

“What's all the fuss about?”

“What are you doing running around and screaming?”

Were the questions thrown at her by the trio. River merely glanced at them with glossy eyes and shaky hands. She looked around them but saw no sign of Rain.

Instead of replying to them, she brushed past them and went into the first room closest to her. It was Finn’s room.
