Jeong’s POV
After destroying three drones I clench her tightly in my arms. Dodging trees and jumping over brush and fallen debris, the only thing I can think about is getting to the ship with her. But wait, what if she doesn’t want me? What if she chooses death?
Considering she might choose death over me a drone caught me off guard knocking the wind out of me as I came in contact with the ground. When I finally was able to shake off the impact all I saw was her legs being hoisted up above the tree tops. Her scream filled me with panic as I rushed to reach her but got pummeled by another drone.
They are keeping me from her, but why!? That’s against the rules! Staggering to stand, still taken back from the impact of the drone, anger begins boiling inside. How dare they get involved. Blinded by my moment of rage I didn’t hear him walk up.
“How pathetic. And here I thought you would be more of a

Rae’s POV Carefully walking through the trees listening for any sign of Jeong or Zviad. I don’t know where they are, he said they were fighting. You’d think I would hear something. I find myself tripping over exposed roots ever since the sun began going down. It’s getting to difficult to see. I think I’m going in the right direction. Those orb things came from this direction, maybe, but everything looks different from down here. Ugh. Stopping beneath a large tree I close my eyes and listen. I can hear the breeze gently rushing through the leaves. There are light humming sounds of insects darting around. I’d say this place was peaceful if not for the whole hunt thing. Out of no where I hear a faint cry in the distance, that must be them! Taking off in the direction of the cry I hope Jeong’s alright. Jeong’s POV I may have the upper hand with my speed but every blow Zviad
Jeong’s POV This is so embarrassing that I needed her to help me. I should be the one coming to her rescue not the other way around. It’s a struggle to keep hobbling leaning on her, the pain is unbearable. All I can do is swallow the pain and pretend it doesn’t bother me. I’m not at ease until we reach the ship. What if Zviad wakes up and gets here before we get to the ship? All I can do is push forward. After what seemed to be an hour we finally made it to the edge of deck. Mr Takvorian and Woo Soo Yun are both standing there arms crossed. The only sound that comes from Mr Takvorian was “Tsk” as he left inside the ship. Woo Soo Yun just stood there and watched as I struggled to hop up the stairs leaning on her. I ignored him as we passed him. Once we made it through the door I instantly fell into the closest chair panting. For the moment she’s safe. If Zviad were to come now there would be n
Rae’s POV After Jeong stated it being late and going to sleep, I can’t help but stare at the bed. I haven’t been able to sleep in a bed since I’ve been here and boy did it look inviting. Without paying attention to Jeong I climbed into bed and slipped under the covers. It felt wonderful sinking into the mattress and pillow as I closed my eyes and felt at peace. Opening my eyes I look over at Jeong and notice his jacket is off and now he’s unbuttoning his shirt. I can see his toned chest and abs as he continues to unbutton shirt from top to bottom. Flustered, I sit up gripping the blanket around my body and yell out “What are you doing!?” With an expression that it’s so obvious he remarks “I’m getting ready to sleep. What does it look like?” “Why are you taking off your clothes?” What is he thinking? You don’t need to take off your clothes to sleep. Was he lying? Is he planning to take advanta
Rae’s POV Leaving the ship, it looks more like a building that’s always been here. There is a wrought iron fence surrounding the building with the same ornate statues at every post. Upon first glance you would never think this massive thing could lift itself up off the ground. Jeong stops dead in his tracks causing me to bump into him. Peering around him I notice something that resembles a royal carriage of sorts. It’s very ornate with gold trim and what seems to be red velvet curtains draped inside the windows. There are no wheels nor are there any horses in front of it, at least I would expect something that looks like this to have them. There is a man sitting in front of what I’d assume is the drivers seat and another man standing outside the carriage. Jeong stiffens for a moment and squeezes my hand slightly. He then proceeds to quickly tug me along down the sidewalk away from the carriage.
Jeong’s POV Leaving Rae in the bathroom I decided to head to the study. Since the bonding I can sense she wont do anything which puts me at ease. I’m sure he’ll be in the study as I walk the unnecessary twists and turns of the hallways. Just like the Compound, this place was also built like a labyrinth. Upon reaching the study a servant opens the door and bows as I walk past. My father behind his desk over looking some paperwork looks up and raises an eyebrow. Tapping a finger on the desk “Where is she?” as he looks annoyed. “I didn’t think it proper for her to come dressed in import attire seeing as you didn’t leave us any time to prepare.” What did you expect old man… “Very well.” as he leans back in his chair “Now do tell me, what changed your mind after all these years?” “I haven’t changed my mind. I still mean what I said.” I can’t help but g
Rae’s POV Heading down the hallways in twists and turns, it begins reminding me of that prison only nicer looking. The maid has been silent ever since we left the bedroom. I hope she’s actually taking me where she said she is. I find myself praying that Jeong will be there, I’m not ready to be alone with his father. Or at least I’d assume it’s his father since they call Jeong ‘Young Lord’. The maid stops in front of large double doors and turns to me “Wait here, when they are ready for you they will summon you.” then left without another word. I’m now standing here in the hallway wondering what to do. I begin noticing the paintings and statues around the hall and find myself looking at them. The paintings consist of still life’s and scenic landscapes that are all well done, although I’m not really much of a judge on art. The statues mainly consist of busts of people I have no idea who they are meant to be.
Rae’s POV Jeong leads me towards the garden. Once outside we follow a path down a few steps onto a patio where his father is already there waiting for us. The table was circular that was large enough to fit eight people comfortably. Jeong had me sit at the seat almost across from his father while he took the seat to my right. I’d assume he thought this was the most distance he could get between his father and I. Not soon after sitting down the servants began bringing carts of food and setting them on the table. “I wasn’t sure what your preference is so I had them make a little of everything.” said Jeong’s father as he waved off the servants. The food all looks different from what I’m use to back on Earth. Don’t get me wrong, the food looks delicious but none of it is what I recognize. I can tell what’s meat and whats vegetable maybe? I mean I’m all for trying new things at least once, but thi
Rae’s POV While In the carriage Jeong has been awfully quiet. When I glance over at him, he is just sitting there with his arms and legs crossed, eyes closed. He remains silent but I can tell the further along we get the more his face tenses like if he’s mulling over something. When the carriage finally reaches the outskirts of town and makes it’s way down a country styled road Jeong finally breaks the silence. “What did my father tell you while I was gone?” his eyes still closed slightly furrowed. “He asked why I decided to help you.” as I was somewhat still looking out the carriage window only half way looking at him. Opening his eyes he looks at me “What did you tell him?” “Only that I knew my options and Zviad frightened me.” what else could I have said? “Was that all?” with a concerned look on his face. I can’t help but
