47: GRAY'S GOODBYE

Kaliyah had a sharp sense of smell even when she was young. And as she grew up, it also grew stronger as she aged.

She was supposed to be enjoying her sleep in Ruan’s embrace when she was woken up by her nose getting itchy. Her nose was overwhelmed by a strong scent of herb that she was startled awake.

Looking beside her, Ruan was still asleep.

Then where does that scent come from?

Slowly, to not disturb Ruan, she slipped off from his arms and followed the scent. It delivered her to the terrace, where she found a familiar figure sitting there.

As if, he’s waiting for her.

“What are you doing here?” she asked, whispering as she glanced at Ruan. He seemed still asleep.

Gray turned to her, brushing her an intent look. He stood up and approached her.

“I’m here to say goodbye.”

“What-”

“Shhh. You’re the only one I’m bidding farewell with. I will be going somewhere. And I’m not sure when I return. Or if I can ever return.
