Down to Brass Tax

Patiently waiting in the living room, Claire and Sean watched some show called “The Big Bang Theory” when Mal stepped into the living room. With a huge smile on his face, Sean tapped the screen on his phone while Claire smiled at the tv.

She silently mouthed “Quinn,” when Mal tipped his head in Sean’s direction. Smoothly, he sat next to Claire, but as soon as he did, she plopped into his lap.

He held her close, kissing her shoulder, then turned his attention to the TV and whispered in her ear, “When did Sean and Quinn become an item? I thought that he and you were close. Especially when he volunteered to watch after you..” That caused Claire to cackle.

“No. No. No- Besides being good friends, there is nothing between me and Sean. He only volunteered because: 1. He cares about me like a sister and 2. Quinn is his ‘mate’.
