Disobedient slave

I shrugged, “it was just a guess. With the way you were acting and all that, I just guessed that to be the case.”

“Oh,” the human maid turned to me. “Your food is over there. I will be back to collect the plates when you are through, okay?”

“Okay.” I nodded at her, as I expertly avoided the question of the human friend she might have had once.

From her expression and the way she acted, it wasn't that difficult to know she was hiding something.

I hurriedly ate my food to sate my hungry soul before I walked over to the window.

The box that contained the vampire is still there; however, it has been closed since that night.

And that made me wonder what the vampire was doing in the box.

I wondered how the box got there, and where the human maid was on the night I came here.

If memory served me right, I can recall how silent the entire place was when I first stepped in.

Could it be that she was hiding in a place when I walked in?
