Chapter 129

Sam still looked uncomfortable when we were on our way to his residence. I was totally confused as to why a man as big and tall as Sam could be made to act awkwardly by a fifteen year old teenager.

"Does Daniel live with his parents in the castle?" I asked, turning to him. The car we drove off the forest-lined track headed toward the outskirts of Portland.

"Balthazar lives alone there," he replied after a moment's silence.

"Huh? Alone?" I stared at him in disbelief.

"He lives in that place alone?"

Sam nodded briefly. "Balthazar ... not as young as you think, Chloe."

"How old is he?" I replied. We entered the basement parking of an apartment building and Sam drove his car slower to find an empty parking spot.

"I'll tell you his age after you become my mate" he said with a smile and then unbuckled his seat belt. His mysterious smile made me even more curious.

"How old is he? Seventeen?" I said after we got out of the car and walked to the lobby. Sam took my hand then lifted him to kiss
