Chapter 86

Alex's whole body who was kneeling in front of me stiffened. So did Jake, Luca, and Jordan. The three of them looked shocked.

"Is it not Dimitri who hurt you like this?" Jordan asked, his black eyes widening. "So the Rogue who died this morning did it?"

All pairs of eyes looked at me and waited for me to answer Jordan's question.

"Charlie and Zaya were assigned to look after me. There's usually one more werewolf but I only saw these two that day so I thought it was a good chance to escape" I explained as I tried to swallow the lump of sadness in my throat. Alex took my hand and held it, his warm hand giving me the strength to continue.

"After a week in that dungeon I was starting to feel hopeless. So I tried to run away. Maybe it was because Charlie panicked while chasing me. I'm here to tell Alex."

I saw Luca shake his head as he listened to my story. "Caroline, you don't need to defend him. What he did and the consequences are his own fault," he said firmly.

"Luca's right" Alex said
