Chapter Eighty-one (Dane’s POV) Present Time

With chest heaving, I stood in the middle of dead bodies, the guardians surrounding me scanning the grounds for more of the fuckers.

"What do you want me to do with these ones?" Wulfgar Hawk asked, shoving the two survivors into our circle. They had both regressed into their human form and were watching us like prey would a predator. One was bigger than the other; they both had black eyes with long straight hair. And beneath the blood-stained bodies, I could see their skin was tan to an almost golden brown. The iron collar around their necks was still intact and the depth of resentment in their eyes was almost personal.

"What are your names?" I asked, striding closer to them. They exchanged a look before reverting their gazes to me.

"What good are our names when you are just going to slaughter us anyway!" The bigger one snarled.

"You are right. You are no use to me dead or alive which is why you must watch how you speak to me…"

"Or what? Kill us already, savage! What good ever
