Chapter Fifty-three (Dane's POV) present Time…

It was calm – too calm, it bothered me. I knew exactly what it meant; the ominousness of the wait was so thick, I could smell it in the air. I had felt it uncountable times before – for decades now, and I knew whatever was coming was not going to be to my liking.

It had been more than a day already and Vrionis had not made any move. It was either we have succeeded in scaring him off or he was planning something big.
