Chapter Forty (Saraya's POV) present Time…

Dane didn't backdown on his decision to have me tucked safely inside the carriage. And although the other men had horses they chose to walk with Dane. I felt a tad left out. Wishing I could be allowed to march with them. The outside was an endless plain of white – the grounds were covered with snow and the powdery substance dusted the tall pine trees in the surrounding dense vegetation.

It gave me the feeling of Christmas and reminded me of the movie Narnia. I giggled to myself. Although I didn't walk through a closet to get to this winter wonderland, my mode of switching realms was magical nonetheless. It was strange that I felt quite at home and safe even though my memory was scanty.
