CHAPTER 18

"What's the problem with him?" Lucia asked with a creased brow. She was watching him through the glass walls of the cafe and had seen the reckless way he had driven off.

"I should be asking you that. Why were you so harsh at him?" Jackson asked with his hands akimbo. He was glaring at his friend with undisguised annoyance.

Unlike the others in the room, he didn't bother to hide the fact that he was offended at her. He saw her actions earlier on as being ungrateful.

"Are you asking me that question for real? Why shouldn't I be? Didn't you see the way he was running his hand over mine? Or have you suddenly gone blind to his flaws because he helped us?"

She asked, staring at Jackson like he was vomit. She expected him to take her side without thinking about it for the second time. Either she was right or wrong, he shouldn't condemn her because he was her friend.

"Damn it Lucia! You know, that's the problem with you! What harm is there if he holds your hand? Isn't he only worried for you?
