She ignored his question and continue balancing the register while she cast furtive glances at the show going on the television.

He sighed and then laid a hand on her shoulder.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to upset you!" He apologized with a meek, gentle voice that did magic on Lucia. She was about to reply to him but changed her mind when a voice ordered her not to.

"No, let him ache for your companionship for a little longer. That way he would know you are a very important part of his life," the voice had said.

Just then, the clock struck eight, and that was when she deemed it fit to walk up to the man.

"Good day sir! The shop is about to close and we would like you to please leave," she said in the most polite voice she could come up with, even though he never deserved it.

He had been throwing tantrums right from the moment he stepped into the shop.
