Chapter 43

Stella’s POV

I do not know what to do with myself. Cole just ran off to fight off some rogues. ‘I am going to sit on the back patio by the pool’ I think to myself. I huff as I plop myself down. I have a nagging feeling like something is not right.

A pain shoots up my spine. Something is wrong with Cole. I know exactly where he is, so I sprint in that direction. Now that I have my wolf I can run faster. Eve is pushing me to run faster. “Stefan is in trouble.” She says in my head.

I hear screaming so I slow down. I try to creep towards the scene. I want the element of surprise.

I can smell the wolfsbane, but it is not affecting me. Everything is hazy with smoke. I see Cole lying on his back gasping for air. The wolves are doing the same.

I bend down to Cole and put my hand on his face. He opens his eyes to look at me.

Some men in gas masks step from behind. “Your dead. You understand that?” I ask them.
