THIRD PERSON'S POV
Olivia Lilan... a descendant of the most powerful witches in history and the princess and next-in-crown to the throne as the next queen for the Air Kingdom...
And just like any other kid at her age, she started training her body to the bones, though a bit early, as she started training at the age of 6, she surprised those who have doubted and underestimated her by thinking that her capabilities are only limited to that of her age.
Lilan's young and fragile body was shaped to be powerful yet majestic, dangerous yet magical... She tamed her body and made it so strong that it will be able to handle the dangers of her Gift. Trained her body with utmost care to be able to fight alongside death with no fear of the inevitable... Though she trained on her own will, happily even, of course, there were still times when she asked herself and her parents...
Why must I have to endure death-like training for just one single wish? Why must I and every kid in our world train so hard at such a young age? or Is there a world where we don't have to fight nor train with death's scythe on our necks?
Until, at the young age of 10, Lilan decided 'I shall go to a place where I don't need to train so hard! That shall be my wish once I win the survival competition!'
Even at her Gift coming age, when she got her Gift to control air, she still had that goal stuck in her mind and followed it by heart, though unknowingly. And even at the start of the competition when she already turned 15, it was still her one and only life goal. But what she also didn't expect was the very shocking news her family told her...
She will be married to the next Alpha of an elite wolf pack and shall be the next Luna as she had ended up to be his Mate. And that her soon-to-be In-laws are going to be watching her together with their son.
Infuriated about marrying her off to a complete stranger and worse a wolf known for their obsessiveness with their Mates, She asked for his name. But since her family knows her very well, and how she becomes merciless to the people she detests, hence, they hid the name until the competition is over.
Hearing about this Lilan just got angrier. Hence, she had one goal, to eliminate all-male wolves in the competition and torture them to death until they would answer if that guy is her fiancé. But life was never that easy... both of them started at both ends of the arena and as the battle gradually went on they both went farther from each other
But still, regardless of her own goal, she still tried to eliminate everyone on her way to victory, still with her life goal in mind, and that she did, fascinating the audience as she used high-level and powerful wind spells and eliminated her opponent with just a spell or two, becoming proud of how she's doing, she didn't even fantom that her target of choice for elimination was doing as good as she is.
As if they had known each other for so long, both of their tactics were remarkably identical. And the most obvious and most identical one was that they were eliminating every opponent they encountered one after another without having a single scratch on their body. It was as if they had both planned this before entering the arena.
"The competition going now on its seventh day, exactly a week since the start of the competition. Only two more contestants remaining; Your highness, Princess Lilan Wind of the Air Kingdom, and The future Alpha of one of the elite wolf packs there is, Black Moon Pack, Ryan Launa"
Lilan's POV
Damn. If I am correct, then this is already the seventh day of the competition. Goddess, I'm so worn out already. I've been using difficult spells just to end the battles as fast as I could because I know for some reason that everyone I've battled so far isn't the guy that my family has decided to be my future husband and the next king of our kingdom. I mean how can they just give the title of the next King to just anyone that claims to have me as their mate?!
For the last few days, I've only been circling the center of the arena, and out of everyone I've encountered so far no one was strong enough to pose a threat to me winning this survival game. So in conclusion, everyone I've encountered so far is now goners to this competition.
I went up on a tall tree which I've been using as my lookout to see any players coming inside the perimeter, and that's when I saw a guy closing in. He seemed so carefree, unlike the other participants.
I'd bet 10 gold coins that this guy is a wolf, who would think otherwise. Wolves are known to be for their obsessiveness, yeah sure but they are also known for their boastful and playful attitudes, so I'm pretty sure with this one.
But really there's this unsettling feeling and beautiful scent of dandelions the moment I saw him, and when our eyes met I knew one thing from that moment on.
"Mate" my animal counterpart dragon, Phoebe said.
He's the guy I've been looking for, the reason why I'm competing so aggressively in this game.
That guy there, my best friend. And my Mate....?
Lilan's POVThat guy... He's my mate...? Ha! He was the one I'd been so nervous about for a week now?! Then I guess it's time for the main match huh?! I chuckled at the thought. This is going to be fun indeed."Stop what you're thinking Lilan! That's our mate!" again Phoebe said. A smirk was now drawn onto my face and his. We both knew who each other was, very much well aware of each other I must say eve. Ryan Launa, the only wolf I can take for their attitudes and also my best friend. My childhood friend and if I must say, now my mate..."Hiya' there Mate!" Ryan said playfully"Stop the bullcrap, Ryan. So is it true?" I said Incredeiously."What is, mate?" He said, trying to stop the smirk forming on his lips."Yeah, yeah sure. You calling me 'Mate' is enough evidence that I am indeed your mate. God this is just weird. You are my fiancé? Or Mate? or whatever it's called... Just that is weird, I mean we're childhood friends, best friends to that. And really don't you think it's weird,
Lilan's POV"I want to run away---" What the--?! No, no that's not what I planned to wish for. I planned to wish to harbor another element and be able to master that element as I did with the air element. But is that really my true heart's desire? "Follow your heart Lilan." Phoebe was right. What I just said are words my heart has spoken. Should I follow it? Mother and Grandma always said to follow my heart's desire because it will lead me to a better path and it's something the goddesses of elements have destined for me.I looked around the crowd and they all gasped. I guessed I can't take it back now, huh? Okay then, I have decided. "I wish to be dispatched to the mortal world as a part of the Mortal Magic Dispatch Team until I am needed to fulfill my duties to the throne and to the kingdom," I said, full of determination. Again everyone gasped, something I expected. The mortal world is the world of beings without powers... every magic-user dispatched there are those who are not c
Do I really not love this man? "I love you, Mate, and I don't know if this is part of me having you as my mate or what." He said, while still hugging me. "Hmmm, yeah sure whatever. Wait, What the----?!" I said trying to pull away from his hug."Hahaha, I knew that would be your reaction but your reaction was still priceless! Hahaha!" He said making weird surprised faces while laughing so hard enough for him to hold his stomach from all the laughing. I just frowned since I'm used to him making fun of me and his usual mischiefs, but from time to time like right now Find him cute laughing like the funniest thing in the world is just right in front of him, which is, most of the time, me."Okay, now that's enough, Ryan. Come on." I said annoyed at him. "Hahaha, Okay, okay, I'm done, but still the look on your face, mate was priceless." He was just about to laugh again so I had to glare at him to make him stop, but was he still holding back a laugh or two."Hey, Ryan, I'll be transported to
'Huh? wait look, Phoebe look. isn't that mother? that mortal, she looks exactly just like Mother!' I said telepathically to talk to Phoebe. 'Y-You're right Princess. But how could that be possible' Phoebe said, confused as I was. 'Hmm... Let's go, Phoebe, Let's follow her.' 'B-but Princess w-wait. It's illegal in this world to just follow someone, it's a crime they call stalking.' Pheobe said, quite nervous at my suggestion. 'So? We won't go to jail if we get caught or just approach her for help.'~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~'What do you think is this place, Phoebe?' I said rather flustered at the unfamiliar place in front of us. Police Station, it read upfront with some weird blue cap logo. 'I also don't know Princess, but look they have prison cells here this must be the guard's station.' Phoebe said, coming to a conclusion of what this strange place was. 'Okay then.' I said preparing myself to go inside."Um, Excuse me. I-I think I'm lost." I said to the man at the front desk. "Hey Dear. Ar
I was woken up by the sound of people fighting. I grunted and forced myself to get up and see what is the commotion all about. I peeked through a small gap in the door that I opened. Again, there were people fighting but this time it was two women."Hey, Clarise. What's happening." I said still groggy from my sleep. "Two minors got caught for fighting in an alley and it seems that both are from rich families and have 'Karens' for moms," she said as she air quoted the Karens which made both of us laugh. After a while and what felt like the longest fight I have ever witnessed, both sides settled on having both children go on community cleaning. Clarise said it was just another normal nighttime arrest. When things seemed to have eased up I went back to the sleeping quarters and took out my dagger since I needed to reach my one-day, one arrest quota. "Let's go!" I whispered to myself as I tried to fill myself with confidence that I could do it as I was very nervous for my first day on my
After several months~After observing the mortal world for some time now, I could say, I have already adjusted to their lifestyle. And all I could say about is humans are already complicated as it is, they even want to complicate the simplest matter. *sigh* I got lost in my train of thoughts when Clarise came in."Hey, you okay? You seem out of it these days.""Yeah ... It's just that I'm nervous about the upcoming entrance examination for the school that I applied to go to," I said half lying. "Well okay then. Good luck later by the way!"And yes, I have decided that I will go to a mortal school while I'm here since I found out that mortals have also been studying their behaviors and the ways how their brains work, I really wanted to study more about it and also, since I've saved up some money from working in a restaurant near here and I was also considered some kind of 'stay-in intern' here in the station I also got money there I also sold some pieces of jewelry that I brought with
I was smiling from ear to ear the whole while we ate. I just could not contain my excitement about living together with Clarise! Passionately waiting for the time to go home. "Clarise, excuse me but, I would like to talk to Lilan for a second," Ophelia said after we finished eating."Why, yes of course. That would be fine. Then I shall go to the bathroom for a bit then, while you both talk." Clarise said while excusing herself. "Yes, that would be very much appreciated!" Ophelia said thanking her for the privacy given to our conversation.I knew from the tone they were both talking in that they were trying to be as polite as possible towards each other, and I couldn't help but smirk at them as there was no need for them to be so polite and formal as they both will be seeing each other a lot now that Clarise has become my legal guardian as she's taking me under her wing. When Clarise was now out of ear reach, our little meeting about my job as an MMDT Officer started.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
'Impudent dumb bitch! How could you not even think about that!' I said to myself in a whisper-hiss tone reprimanding myself. *sigh* 'Phoebe! can you help me here? Please activate the invisibility spell.' I said finally giving up.'Yes, Princess. Good luck on sneaking out Lilan.' Phoebe said her voice filled with a brim of amusement. 'Ah, yes. I'll be needing all the good luck wishes in the world.' I took a deep breath and chanted the spell.I jumped off the opened window carefully trying to not bump into any of the items and appliances near the window. Once I got on the ground it was an easy feat afterward and I just simply carried out my mission for the night. As long as I also figure out a way to go back into my room without being suspected, I'll presumably have it easier in the future as long as I quickly get the hang of it.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~2 years after~It's not been a walk in the park for the past two years of my life here on Earth. There have been countless instan
