*Ava's POV*
" Why can't we go back?" I asked Naomi as she shut the door behind her.
" Because Tobias is handling everything. With Lizzie gone the threat is over. Tobias will be alright." She smiled as she gently rubbed my shoulder.
" Are you sure?" I asked.
" Yes, I am."
I wasn't sure what the feeling was or where it was coming from but I am sure Tobias is going to do something. He will do something drastic and I need to stop him. But first I need to get away from Naomi.
" I'm starving," I sighed," Would you like anything to eat?"
" I didn't even realize I was hungry until you asked." She chuckled.
" I'll see what's in the kitchen."
When I was younger I used to get horrible nightmares
*Ava's POV*I fell to my knees, crying. Large hot tears poured like rivers down my cheeks and watered the ground beneath me.I cried like there was no tomorrow. I punched the wet ground and swore to the heavens above. But it was no use, it wouldn't bring him back. How could he leave me?After everything we have been through why would he leave me like this?" Please give him back!" I screamed into the night air. My voice bro
*Tobias's POV*Many say time goes slow in the worst moments of our lives. Those people are right. The last thing I saw was my Ava crying, begging me to stop. But I didn't." I love you." I said then I went into the pendant. The fall from Earth into the pendant was slow. Slow and excruciating. And all I could think about was Ava and all I could hear was her cries, and all I could see were her tears. All I could see was Ava and then nothing.I la
*Ava's POV*Eventually, after I don't know how long I stopped crying. Only letting out small sniffles and hiccups.I held the pendant in my hands. My father and the rest of the men had stepped back, letting me have my space.Naomi kneeled silently next to me muttering something under her breath." What are you doing?" I asked her." Praying." She said." I thought witches didn't pray to God." One of the men said. They all looked at her for her answer, for her explanation." We don't," She chuckled," We pray to many things. We pray to the Dark Lord when we want gifts. We pray to Lillith when we want protection. But in this case, when a witch's soul and in some cases their body leave this physical plane we pray to
" So what do you think?" Naomi asked.I gazed out at her masterpiece. After the engagement, Naomi insisted she had to be our wedding planner. Neither Ava nor I could disagree. It was very obvious that Naomi had a better flair for decorating and all that other important things than we did so we let her have free rein over this whole thing and I certainly don't regret it.The church looked unrecognizable. White and gold cloth hung over the ceiling and down the walls. A gold aisle ran along the floor up to the rose-covered altar. The back of every pew was also laced with the cloth and secured with blood-red roses." It is absolutely amazing," I smiled," Must have taken you hours."" Nope, it only took half an hour. Life works faster when you still have magic." She smirked.Ever since that night we defeated the witches Naomi has been droning me that now that I am human she is the greatest between the two of us. And technically she is right. Some
I leaned back against a large, oak tree, positioned at the end of our garden. It is the only place on our entire property where I could actually get some privacy. The old bark snapped off as I shifted back and forth in my makeshift seat, trying to make myself comfortable. My mere touch causing the tree and the grass to wither and start to die
Hawthorn is a small, quiet village located five miles from the coastline on the southern end of the county. Its population is about one hundred people max. It is the halfway point between our hidden valley and our coven's temple, which is just through the woods.Whenever my mam went to the village to get groceries she would leave me at home. When I would ask her why I couldn't come with she would tell me that the villagers would kill me if they found out about me. She said they would fear how dangerous I could become and they would ki
When my mam would talk about the temple she made it sound like a luxurious place. So when I went there for the first time when I was nine I was very disappointed. The temple is just an old building. Its walls are cracked and some have fallen over. The remaining ones have long-dead vines twisting down them. The entrance into the temple is a large, wooden draw bridge.
Lizzie sunk back into her seat as Cleo stood up and made her way to the podium. The skulls crunched slightly as she sat, a sign that the bones were old and were weakening." Looks like I need more skulls." Lizzie chuckled, the smirk on her lips told me she really just wanted to hunt.Blood and bone witches get the blood and bones from mortals, so they developed a tradition of making the hunt for the perfect blood or bone a game. It was a gruesome game that left many dead- mainly young women and children because their blood and bones a
