"Alright then," he said. "I'll be done with my meeting in a few minutes. You should come and wait for me in the garden, I’ll get to you soon."

I nodded, as if he could see me, and went back to the garden where I was before.

"Seriously, after this morning, you're still acting like this," Mel suddenly spoke to me.

"Oh, so now you want to talk?" I frowned. "Well, maybe after this morning, he shouldn't be asking a woman out to the ball.” The king was meant to have so many concubines and his mate. But I just wanted all the attention to myself, I didn't care how selfish it was.

Beta came to join me in the garden. He had his hair combed, wearing a black tank top and gray shorts. He had changed into casual clothes, and now that he was up close, he seemed a lot more attractive than I was used to. I didn't know if it was because I was self-conscious about going to the ball with him, but he really looked hot right now.

I bowed in acknowledgment of his presence and looked up at him. "So what do y
