Chapter 2

“Ahhh! Oh my gosh!” I suddenly fell into a canal on the side of the road. Thankfully, I already finished eating my ice cream before falling into this canal.

I slowly turned to Yaya Celine. She was covering her mouth now while looking at me. “Are you okay Yaya Celine?” I asked worriedly.

“I should be the one to ask you, Senorita!” She says.

“Are you okay?” Her voice was full of concern. She held out her hand to me and helped me climb. It’s not deep. But my ass hurt a lot and then the canal smelled so bad, like terrible.

I looked at Yaya because she’s now covering her nose. The other people looked at me, and then the others were forcing themselves not to laugh.

Looking at my dress that used to be pink, now it looks like it turned black...?

“Do I smell so bad, Yaya Celine?” I gaze at her, blinking. Oh yeah, I smell so bad. Even my nose is hurting because of this smell. How much more of Yaya Celine?

“No, you smell so good even though you fell in the canal, Senorita.” I can’t help my smirk. I know she’s lying. I can see in her eyes. Do people still smell good after falling into a canal?

“You know what, your Mom, will get mad at me when we go home right now. God, what if she’ll fire me because of this?” she seemed sad right now and I see tears dropping in her eyes, her hands are shaking.

Why are our maids afraid of my Mom? She’s nice... for me I guess.

“Don’t worry Yaya Celine, I won’t blame you. Indeed, it’s not your fault, it is my fault, not you. So, you don’t need to be worried.” I said and forced myself to smile.

“Let’s go home quickly, Senorita, so you can take a bath!” she held my hand and continued walking, her every step are fast.

_

“Ouch! Yaya Celine, it hurts!”

We are here in front of the gate. She stopped and looked at me.

I can see the redness in my waist. Maybe it’s because of the tightness of Yaya Celine’s grip, I do have a sensitive skin.

She bit her nail and noticed that her hands were shaking. “Senorita Kiara will kill me, I’m so sorry S-Senorita Shaira, I didn’t m-mean to!”

“It’s okay, why are you shaking?” I’m not mad.

“Wait, is that Senorita?”

“Oh yeah, it’s Señorita Aira! Señorita! Your Mom has been looking for you--“

“Sweetheart! I’ve been looking for you! Where did you go, I thought you were just going to get some fresh air outside?” I can feel the concern in my Mom’s voice.

“Yeah, outside.”

Mommy walked towards me, but she suddenly stopped by and covered her nose. Oh, forgot that I smell so bad.

“What is that smell?” Mommy asked, still covering her nose.

“Sweetheart, what happened to your dress? What happened to you!?” she asked in shock and turned her gaze to Yaya Celine.

“S-She fell into a canal,”

“Into what!!?”

“Did you fall in, sweetheart, or someone pushed you?” She slowly turns her gaze to Yaya Celine.

“I fell on my Mom, I wasn’t looking well...”

“I already said monitor her, Yaya Celine! What’s the use of taking you with my daughter if you didn’t keep a good eye on her!! What if something bad happens to her because of your carelessness!”

Mom turned her gaze on me. “Come on sweetheart, take a bath in your room.”

“We’ve run out of alcohol, so buy a new one now, understand!” She’s now look at Yaya Celine intently.

_

We’re here now in my room, sitting on the side of my bed. I just finished bathing and already got the dress.

I don’t know, but when I’m home my Mom always wants me to wear a dress, like a princess. She treats me like a princess, wearing a dress like a princess. It's weird for me, but for her I don't know.

I tried to understand them all the time.

“Mommy, it’s my fault. So, don’t scold Yaya Celine anymore.” I murmured and held her hand.

She took a deep breath. “Why do you always take the blame of others! Do you know that’s bad Aira!”

“It is my fault Mom, the bad is that you blame your sins on others,” I mutter.

“Okay fine, next time be careful, okay. You know Mommy is just worried about you.” she pinched my nose.

I know, I understand you, Mom.

“By the way, your birthday is coming up. What do you want as a gift?” Thank god, Mom changed the topic. I don’t want to talk about this topic anymore.

“Mommy, my birthday is still next month.”

“It’s almost next month. Where do you want to celebrate? Here at the mansion or in Canada? Which country do you like? Oh, want to go to Disneyland again?”

“I’m not sure...” I shrugged.

Speaking of gifts, they always give me gifts every day.

“It’s your 18th birthday already! I’m so excited to see you wearing a long dress like a princess!” she said excitedly and looked at me like she’s imagining me in her head.

“Tell everything you want when your daddy comes home, so we can plan it by now,” she said.

“Okay.” I scratch my forehead.

“What’s wrong? Did a bug bite your forehead??” her voice is full of concern.

“No, Mom. It’s just itchy... that’s why.” I mumble. Her relief is obvious.

_

After a couple of minutes, she goes outside because someone called her. I think it’s an emergency. Even though they’re busy with their work, they still have time for me. Like this is not what I read and saw in a movie or a story. Because sometimes the story I read is that their parents are busy with their work, they don’t have time for their child.

I’m lucky, super lucky, to have parents like them. For me, they are perfect parents and I think I’m the one who’s not perfect. Yeah, I know nobody’s perfect in this world, but that’s why I said ‘for me’ because only for me, okay.

_

I’m just here in my room playing video games.

It’s Sunday, there’s no class.

Still boring.

I rolled my eyes across the room. Why is my room so tidy? It should be messy here so I can clean something.

"Hmm, I get what I want, they give me eveything but I'm still not happy? I don't deserve this. Why?" Maybe because I want a normal life like other people out there.

Well, my life is not perfect anyway. I can't do whatever I want without my mom's permission. Even cleaning the house or do simple chores I can't because mom will get mad at our maids.

I just go to bed and forced myself to sleep.

_

“Sweety wakes up, it’s time to eat.” I heard my dad’s voice, so I slowly opened my eyes and smiled when I saw him.

“Daddy!” hugged him tightly.

“I brought something for you.” he handed me a white paper bag.

“What’s this?” I’m curious about what’s inside this paper bag.

“It’s a limited edition necklace. Remember the picture I showed you the last time?” I bit my lower lip while thinking...

“Oh, that...” the other day, Dad showed me unique pictures of jewelry and I don’t remember saying that I wanted him to buy me one of them.

“You said it’s beautiful, that’s why I brought it.” he smiled, showing his white and perfect teeth.

What? Ohm, but I only said it’s beautiful, didn’t say that I want it.

I took a deep breath and raised my head. “Thanks, Dad.” I kissed him on the cheek and hugged him again.

“Let’s eat, your Mom cooked your favorite,” he mutters.

I smiled because of what Daddy said. “Really?” he nods at me.

We started eating, and suddenly I choked. The two of them hurriedly fetched water, confused, while looking at the two glasses. Which water will I choose? Mommy or Daddy? But I have already glass in front of me, so... oh okay!

I just drank the water they gave me.

“Just slow down on eating, sweetie.” Daddy said.

“Eat a lot sweetheart, you lose weight these days,” I pout because of Mom’s words.

Lose weight? I have a chubby cheek! And last, why would I lose weight?

Well, my body is just fine. I’m not thin and I’m not fat either.

“By the way, sweetheart, you have a photoshoot tomorrow.” Turned my gaze to Mom.

Yeah right, I’m also a model. I’m the one who wears all Mommy’s designed clothes or whatever.
