Shawn removed the scroll from his pant pocket, that he found under the hourglass.

The scroll was snatched from his palms by an invisible power. It then moved towards the elders and began to Hover in front of them. 

It unfolded itself in front of the elders and remains there for them to read.

The elders looked at the Scroll curiously. By the looks of it, it is quite old and the tongue in which it is written is not their usually used language. It's in a foreign language, one that only a few can read and understand.

The elders became the elders for a reason. They can read almost all the ancient languages and understand them. This one is no different either.
