Lola confirmed that Caesar indeed kept his promise. If it weren't for the gunshot wound hampering his movements, he would likely have stood up and given Lola quite a beating.

The doctor arrived quickly, and it was then that Lola realized there was a secret door behind the wardrobe in the dressing room connected to her bedroom, leading down to a small surgery room.

People knocked on the door and entered, one after another.

Lola waited outside for three hours.

For some reason, her favorite fruits didn't taste as delightful as they used to, her preferred candies were no longer sweet, and even games and books lost their usual charm. Lola sat quietly outside on a chair, the soundproofing here was excellent, she couldn't hear a thing.

The gunshot wound wasn't lethal. Caesar had a top-notch private medical team. Last time, she even aimed a shot at his chest.
