Chapter 43

James and David walked into their grandmother's house. The drunkenness in David had cleared off before they even arrived at the place so it was no longer James' responsibility to see that his brother did not mess things up.

"Ma!" David called his grandmother mother out Loud immediately he stepped into the big living room. "Ma!" He repeated calmly, his voice extended as far reaching the walls of the house. This was his usual way of announcing his presence to his grandmother.

"The bastard himself," Ma said to her grandson when he finally stepped fully into the living room. She was sitting on her most valuable property, her wooden arm chair. She loved to sit on it and press her weight into it and make it screech to and fro. "Come here," she extended her hands wide in a hug, still sitting in her chair.

"No Ma, I'm no longer a child that you should welcome with a hug everytime you see me. Moreover, I won't fit in your arms anymore." David shook his head at his grandmother meaning he was n
