"Stop. Please, stop. I'll tell you. I'll tell you everything you want to know," she said, sobbing out loud. Her heart pounded in her chest as she stared at the menacing figure of Samuel in front of her. Samuel's piercing gaze made her skin crawl, and she had stopped fighting against the restraints that bound her to the iron chair; it was a fruitless mission. Her hands were tied to it very tight.

Working for Mr. Guano for years as his secretary had exposed her to quite a lot of things but being tied to an iron chair, that was not among them. She knew personally that she was no good at enduring pains and that she was not ready to die just yet but how sure was she that James wouldn't slit her throat after she had told him what he wanted to hear?
