Chapter 52

Sitting on one of the couches in the room, Kelvin looked at all the portraits hung on the wall. Directly opposite to where he was sitting was the wedding photograph of his sister and the mayor, smiling. There was almost nothing in this world that made him happier than seeing that his sister was happy. On their wedding day, many things had happened that if not for him would have hindered the success of the marriage. First was the damaged cake. How did it even happen? The caterer had delivered the cake at the reception venue and while the waiters were trying to carry the cake to its position, one of them had slumped and that had sent the cake flying to the other side.

Kelvin had to instantly rush to the only mall available and get a cake as big as the damaged one to replace it, for almost twice the price of the caterer's charge. A dirty world we live in. Exploitation at the slightest chance.
