Chapter 25: Unexpected person

One hour to dinner time and the palace was still bustling with work. I was cleaning the guest rooms. It was only me and another maid, which made it more stressful. I aired the room, swept, changed the sheets and placed fresh flowers in the vases. I did the same thing for the other two rooms assigned to me.

Opposite the guest room was the king's chambers. A shiver ran down my spine when I remembered my first encounter with the king. I wondered if the king was around. I rarely set my eyes on him, not that I wanted to. He had a scary personality and it made me uncomfortable. I saw lady Vivian coming towards me. I carried the cleaning equipments, and when she got to my side, she glared at me. I walked away but stopped when I heard her call.

"Did you clean the guests rooms?"

"I only cleaned a few, another maid cleaned the rest lady Vivian."
